According to the record, the Ci'en Temple was built by Tang Gaozong Li Zhi for his mother to pray for luck. The north side faces to the Hanyuan Hall in Daming Palace. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is pavilion style brick pagoda. It is 64.517 meters high and 25 meters long in each side. The pagoda body is square pyramid which sits on the 4.2 meters high brick platform. The black bricks build the pagoda body. The structure is vigorous. The external is wood structure. The pagoda becomes small and small from the down to the top. The whole building has grand momentum, simple and vigorous sculpture and coordinating proportion. It is the masterwork in Tang dynasty.
